Panaji: Goa Traffic police have booked 2318 people for drunken driving till June 09 as against 535 people during the corresponding period, earlier year.
SP traffic Rahul Gupta said that the special drives are being conducted regularly to curb drunken driving in the state.
He said that a special drive was held from June 7 till June 9 in which 150 violators were booked. The maximum cases were booked at Ponda (17), followed by Mapusa (14) and Vasco (13). Minimum, that is, only one case was booked Curchorem.
He said that during the year from January till June 09, 2024, 2318 cases of drunken driving were booked as against 535 booked during the earlier year.
