Quepem: Congress MLA Altone D’Costa made some “personal” and “scathing” attack on his political rival Chandrakant Kavlekar in an interview with the GNH.
D’Costa was reacting to the statement made by Kavlekar in support of Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar. Tawadkar had called Altone “immature” after latter pointed out to the assembly refusing to table his private members’ resolution on Political Reservation for ST community during upcoming session.
Kavlekar jumped in the controversy with his statement to a local cable channel when he termed Altone as immature.
Responding to it, Altone told our Editor-in-Chief Rupesh Samant “Yes, I am immature for gambling. Babu has to answer what happened to the case filed against him when police had found bundles of matka slips at his residence.”
The Quepem MLA, in the past, had refrained from making statements against Kavlekar except for blaming him for not being able to develop the constituency during his long tenure as the Member of Legislative Assembly.
