Panaji: The Congress party has begun its exercise to strengthen the base across all the assembly constituencies but the decision on the resignation of GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar from the post is still pending.
The Congress leaders including Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and State desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao met K C Venugopal, General Secretary (Organisation) in New Delhi earlier this week.
Returning from New Delhi visit, Kamat said that there was no discussion on the change in leadership. He said that the discussions were around strengthening the party base.
Chodankar had resigned taking responsibility of party’s debacle in Zilla Panchayat elections. His resignation has neither accepted nor rejected by the party high command.
Sources in the party claimed that Kamat is amongst the frontrunner for the coveted post, but few of the leaders in Delhi want Chodankar to continue considering his loyalty towards the organization.
With the run up for the Assembly election already starting, the lack of decision on party’s Goa unit chief has left the party cadres in a confused situation.
Goans has accepted AAP as an alternative to Congress. Congress is still in a denial mode. Goans gave Congress more than 3 Decades to solve Goans Electricity, Water, Health, Roads, Environments, Home Delivery of Government Services and many other problems to solve. But instead of solving Goans problems they joined BJP and betrayed the Voters who voted Congress and not BJP. Congress will again betray their voters and hence Congress voters opted for AAP against Congress in recent ZP Election. AAP will emerge as an alternative to Congress & BJP in 2022 Assembly Election.
