Porvorim: Margao Municipal Council’s Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik who was presiding officer for Special meeting of Mormugao Municipal Council had remained absent with his brother informing about his sickness.
The issue was raised on the floor of the House by BJP MLA Carlose Almeida. Urban Development minister Milind Naik told the House that the meeting of the Mormugao Municipal Council was convened on 26/6/2019. Shri. Siddhivinayak S. Naik, Chief Officer, Margao Municipal Council was appointed as Presiding Officer.
“The Presiding Officer abstained from the said meeting due to chest pain as informed telephonically by his cousin brother to Chief Officer, Mormugao Municipal Council,” he said.
Naik said that no written communication was received from the Presiding Officer. However, vide letter No. MMC/CO.2019-20/191 dated 26//6/2019 the Chief Officer, Mormugao Municipal C ouncil informed that the brother of the Presiding Officer intimated that the Presiding Officer has been admitted in Goa Medical College due to chest pain and thereafter, the Chief Officer, Mormugao Municipal Council informed the Councilors present in the meeting hall of the Council that the meeting has been called off due to absence of the Presiding Officer.
