Vishwajit Rane held meeting of GMCH doctors to further streamline COVID-19 treatment

Bambolim: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday chaired an emergency meeting of doctors to “further streamline response time to treat COVID patients at Goa Medical College and Hospital.

GMCH has reserved four its wards to treat critically ill COVID-19 positive patients.

Rane said that the meeting was held to “further streamline our response time to treat COVID patients at GMC.”

“We are working on improvising our protocols and Standard Operating Procedures to strengthen our fight against COVID-19. Addditionally, the team is also working towards treating interstitial pneumonia caused due to COVID-19, since it is very complex in nature, it is important to treat it at the right time,” Rane tweeted.

“Furthermore, spreading awareness has become increasingly crucial, we shall be conducting awareness campaigns in order to reach to the masses and impart knowledge on symptoms of COVID-19. Team Goa is working unabated to fight menace of this virus,” the Health Minister said.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Nila Mohanan, Dean of GMCH Dr Shivanand Bandekar and others.
