Panaji: BJP candidates Vishwajit Rane and his wife Deviya were leading after the first round in their Valpoi and Poriem assembly constituency respectively.
After end of the first round, vishwajit was leading with 1,300 votes while his wife Deviya was leading with 2,600 votes. Both of them are contesting the election on the BJP symbol.
Valpoi has been traditionally the constituency represented by Vishwajit while Deviya has been contesting for the first time from Poriem assembly segment. Poriem was represented by Deviya’s father in law Pratapsingh Rane on Congress ticket.
