Fatorda: Agriculture minister and Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai on Saturday dedicated the maiden local farmers’ market at Ambaji in Fatorda constituency.
“At Fatorda, we don’t only support farmers with seeds, fertiliser and mechanisation but provide exclusive markets for their farm produce,” Sardesai said while speaking at the launch of Farmers Market.
Sardesai further said that ‘Buy Local , Think Local’ is the only way we can help our farmers to move forward.
He said that Agriculture dept is planning to help setup Farmers Local Markets across the state in due course of time.
He said the Contract Farming Act coupled with Community Farming initiatives will help bring huge tracts of uncultivated fallow lands under cultivation in the state and the next initiative would be to adopt natural farming practices to successfully bring organic farming into the state
