Panaji: A Mig29K aircraft was stranded on the taxiway at Dabolim Airport on Tuesday after its tyre bursted, Indian Navy spokesman said.
The incident happened on Tuesday when the aircraft was on a taxiway ahead of its regular sortie, the spokesman said adding that the runway has remained unaffected.
The single pilot aircraft is based out of INS Hansa at Vasco. Dabolim Airport is a part of INS Hansa and is used by Indian Navy flights during certain period of the day.
The spokesman said that the tyre bursted of the aircraft after which the fire brigade and other services were pressed into action. “The aircraft will be now moved away from the taxiway,” he said.
A senior official from Dabolim Airport stated that the regular civil flights which fly from Dabolim will not be affected due to the incident.
