Two natives of Mumbai apprehended for possessing ganja worth Rs 69,000

Panaji: In a narcotics raid conducted by Pernem Police on Sunday, two persons were arrested for illegal possession of drugs.
The accused persons are identified as Pradeep Ramesh Valecha(27) resident of Kalyan (Mumbai) and Salim Quyyum Khan (21) native of Ulhasnagar (Mumbai).
As per PI Jivba Dalvi, information was received that two persons are involved in drug activities and roaming on an Activa scooter. Accordingly a team was prepared and  the 02 suspected persons were intercepted at Harambol beach parking and they were searched. During the search Ganja worth Rs.69,000 was found hidden in the dickey of thier scooter. The ganja was seized during the raid. The Activa scooter bearing reg no GA 03 N 5230  has also been seized by the police.
The raiding team consisted of  Pi Jivba Dalvi , PSI Praful Giri and constables Vinod Pednekar, Shailesh Parsekar and Ravi Mhaloji.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Gajanan Prabhudessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon IPS.
