Cuncolim: Two youth were arrested while five are on the run after they clashed with the police in South Goa in an inebriated situation during wee hours.

Superintendent of Police (South) Arvind Gawas said that a police van, which had gone to the spot to arrest the youth, was attacked by them.

Two youth were arrested by Cuncolim police, while rest five are on the run, Gawas said adding that all were under drunken condition.

Police had gone to arrest the youth after they were creating ruckus on the highway in Cuncolim village mid-night.

“Despite reprimanding the youth twice, they did not budge after which police tried to arrest them,” he said.

All the four policemen who had gone to arrest the youth suffered minor injury in the scuffle, Gawas said.
