Twins delivered in 108 Ambulance successfully

Panaji: Amidst lockdown, the staff on 108 ambulance service in Goa conducted twin delivery of a woman, on the way to the hospital.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters on Monday that the delivery happened while the woman was on her way to the District Hospital in Mapusa town.

The woman delivered twins in the Ambulance with the staff successfully handling the medical situation, he said.

He said that delivery happened almost 30 kms away from the district hospital in Assnora village of North Goa.

“Twins were successfully delivered in the ambulance by Valpoi staff nurse, Nilima Sawant along with other staff including  Seema Parit and EMT Shreetan Kudnekar,” he said.

The minister said 108 Ambulances have been strengthening health care in the state since its inception, their professional treatment and dedication is par excellence.
