Panaji: Goa unit of Trinamool Congress Party on Friday demanded that the prices of LPG cylinders should be reduced to almost half, around Rs 500, to provide relief to the common people of the country.
Addressing a press conference, TMC General Secretary Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik said that centre’s decision to reduce the LGP cylinder prices was taken as a knee-jerk reaction towards the INDIA alliance, which is gaining strength across all the opposition parties.
She demanded that the LPG cylinder prices should be reduced to almost half. “TMC Goa demands that the LPG cylinder prices should brought down to Rs 500 to give relief to the common people,” Naik said.
The TMC leader also demanded that the BJP-led Goa government which had promised three free LPG cylinders to all the consumers of the state, should abide by their promise.
She said that Pramod Sawant-led government has partially fulfilled its promise. “Government has only given subsidy to the LPG consumers who are below poverty line. The benefit should be given to all the consumers,” Naik demanded.
