Panaji: Three passengers who arrived in Goa on Friday morning by a flight from the United Kingdom have tested positive for COVID-19 infection, while the samples have been sent for genome sequencing to check the probability of Omicron.
State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday tweeted “three patients tested positive from flight that arrived today morning from UK. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing, reports awaited.”
The 101st flight under Vande Bharat Mission had arrived on Friday from London’s Heathrow Airport, Goa airport has said in its tweet.
Goa Airport tweeted “101st VBM flight arrived from London @HeathrowAirport today morning at Goa Airport. Int’l Arrival pax undergoes thermal screening and complete exit formalities upon arrival. Team Goa striving to ensure for safe and smooth transit of pax.”
