Three Taxi drivers arrested for robbing Naval officer at Old Goa

Old Goa: Goa Police have arrested three taxi drivers for robbing an Indian Navy officer from Andhra Pradesh under the pretext of dropping him to the Railway Station.
A senior official from Old Goa Police stated that three persons were arrested and three vehicles, used as a Tourist Taxis, were confiscated by them, following complaint by the Naval officer.

He said that 47-year-old Molleti Apparao, working with the Indian Navy and originally from Vishakhapattanam, had filed complaint with the police that on February 11 stating that two days earlier (on February 09), an unknown persons with their intentions robbed him of Rs 45,000.
Police said that the victim had hired a taxi on the way to Vasco Railway Station. The accused stopped on the way, who was later joined by two other accused, who threatened and robbed him on Panaji-Ponda Highway.
After the investigation, Police have arrested accused Sameer Mulla (26), Irfan Bhandari (30) and Asif Shaikh (39) for robbing the victim.
