Three-day Vibrant Goa Global Expo & Summit to say “No to plastic”

Panaji: The three-day long Vibrant Goa Global Expo and Summit, which will be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjiee stadium from October 17, will be complete plastic free event.

The event, which will see participation of over 52 countries, will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Shipping Nitin Gadkari. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will also be present.

Speaking about ‘plastic free’ event, Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo said that this is for the first time that zero tolerance to waste is being implemented during an international expo.

He said that a private firm has been entrusted with the task to ensure that no plastic is used for the summit.

“Prime Minister’s vision of Swachh Bharat is implemented to ensure that no plastic will be used,” Lobo said.

The summit will be attended by over 530 international delegates and 2000 plus national delegates.
