Porvorim: The three-day monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly will begin on Monday, August 31.

Joint Secretary (Legislature Department) Mohan Gaonkar said that the session will begin at 11.30 am on Monday (August 31) with Question Hour.
He said government business, including the tabling of Bills, will be taken up on all three days of the session.
Gaonkar said the House will take up 883 questions during the session, tabled by members of both the ruling and opposition benches.
“These questions include 163 starred questions and 720 unstarred questions,” he added.
The strength of the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly has been reduced to 38 following the deaths of two MLAs — then Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik and Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate.
Among the important Bills, the House is expected to discuss the proposed anti-conversion legislation, which has drawn strong criticism from opposition parties.
The Goa Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill, 2026, will be tabled during the upcoming session. The Bill has already been approved by the state Cabinet, this week.
