PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that those involved in the firing on a businessman in the state will not be spared.
Talking to reporters in Panaji, Sawant said that, for the first time during his tenure as Chief Minister, such an incident involving gunfire targeting a businessman has taken place.
Two unknown assailants allegedly fired at Srinivas Nayak, Director of Casino Majestic Pride Hotels and Resorts, on Friday night. The businessman was unharmed, although the assailants fired three rounds at him.
Sawant said that the police department is conducting an extensive investigation into the matter.
“Those involved in the offence will not be spared,” he said, adding that the reasons behind the attack are also being investigated.
The Chief Minister said that the state police would arrest the accused at the earliest.
