Former MGP candidate from Poriem Suhas Naik joined the Aam Aadmi Party, strengthening its hold in North Goa. Inspired by the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and by the work done by AAP Goa in helping Goenkars in the state during the Pandemic Naik along with 10 other people joined the party. Naik is a prominent social worker and is a well known face in the constituency having stood for elections. AAP Goa has been attracting many faces across the state due to the hard work being done by it.
It is clear that AAP is the only opposition in the minds of Goenkars. AAP has been working aggressively in the state and has been expanding its footprint as well. At a time when common Goenkars have lost jobs, lost business & lives ruling politicians have grown richer and richer. Goenkars have been suffering under the Corona pandemic, however the MLAs and the Govt have been missing. It was only AAP that has stood with the residents of Poriem and Goa during this tough time, whether it is providing them with Oximeters, Oxygen concentrators or ration.
“We have been inspired by the hard work and change that Arvind Kejriwal has brought about as the CM of Delhi. In the past 4 and a half years we have seen Goenkars suffering under the Govt of the BJP and Pramod Sawant.” said Suhas Naik. “We are looking forward to bringing the Kejriwal Model into Poriem and into Goa where the focus is on the common Goenkar.” added Naik.
“The Kejriwal Model is attracting Goenkars from across the state and it is clear that the residents of Poriem also are looking to the party for change” said AAP Porvorim Assembly incharge Vighanesh Apte.
“It is because of the love of Goa that Goenkars and leaders across the state are joining AAP” said AAP StCruz Assembly incharge Sudhesh R Kalangutkar.
“AAP is the future of Goa and the people of Goa have accepted that AAP is the key opposition in the state right now.” said AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre. “Goenkars whether politicians, activists or just the common man are joining AAP as they are tired of the BJP and Congress who are nothing but two sides of the same coin” added Mhambre.
