Porvorim: While expressing happiness that Succoro panchayat has corrected their mistake of issuing notice to the Church, Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte said that the panchayat body stood exposed.
Succoro panchayat had issued notice to construction of a Cross.
“Succoro sarpanch has no right to talk. He stands exposed what he was trying to do. I am happy that they have shelved their plans,” Khaunte reacted.
“As far as Rohan Khaunte is concerned, people know very well. I don’t have to tell about me to the people,” he said responding to the allegations against him.
“Our strength has been the unity of the people. That is why I am standing here as an Independent MLA,” he said.
“Cross has been existing there for last 40-50 years,” he said.
Khaunte said that the panchayat should not have done such kind of thing when ZP election is on. He also pointed out that complainant is an accused in other case.
“I am happy that panchayat has taken corrective measures. But bottomline is that they stood exposed,” he added.
