State to draft Solid Waste Management Policy by Oct 2019, CM informs House

Porvorim: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today informed House that government is in process of drafting Solid Waste Management Policy for the State by October 2019.

 “ State Government is aiming at Goa as a litter free State,” Parrikar said replying to a question tabled by Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar.

“ Government is in process of development of Solid Waste Management Policy for the State of Goa and the same shall be ready by October 2019,” he added.

He said that the Goa Waste Management Corporation is in process of drafting the policy and that Karnataka based M/s Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited is the consultant appointed.

“The consultant are in a process of survey through which they will draft Solid Waste Management Policy for the State, duly approved by Goa Waste Management Corporation and the same will be finalized by Government after due consideration,” Parrikar said.
