Panaji: The smart kiosks set up to test COVID-19 at the state borders have become functional from Tuesday, State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said.
In a statement released here, Rane said “although Goa is in green zone, we are ensuring all possible measures to curb the spread of the virus.”
“The Smart Kiosks placed at border check post of Dodamarg and Keri (both in North Goa) are now operational,” he said.
Both the check posts are bordering Maharashtra.
“I am grateful to the team of GVK EMRI 108 for their assistance by providing Emergency Medical Technicians who have been trained by Goa Directorate of Health Services,” Rane said.
“The technicians will be collecting swabs of the suspected travellers entering Goa and send it for testing at the COVID lab,” he added.
“These Kiosks will go a long way in controlling the spread of #COVID19 in the state of Goa.”
