Old Goa: AAP Goa President Amit Palekar on Friday said that the Old Goa police should have investigated everyone named by Suleman Siddiqui in his video statement but were targeting him alone to “wipe out the embarrassment.”
Palekar appeared before Old Goa police on Friday in response to the summons issued by the investigating officer in connection with the Suleman Siddiqui case.
The AAP leader said that the police were trying to cover up their embarrassment by harassing him after the video surfaced. He stated that Siddiqui is one of the biggest embarrassments to Goa police.
Interestingly, Palekar appeared before the police with a toothbrush and toothpaste, stating that he was ready to face anything. He added that he would be exposing everyone in his statement.
Palekar demanded that the police should have investigated SP Crime Rahul Gupta, DySP Suraj Halarnkar, and Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, who were named by Suleman Siddiqui in his video.
The AAP leader questioned why summons were issued to him under Section 35 of BNSS, which is usually served to an accused person.
