New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the order of Goa Bench of Bombay High Court on municipal reservations.
This will pave way for the election process for all the 11 municipal councils and CCP to be proceeded as per the schedule.
Supreme Court Bench comprising Justice Nariman and Justice Roy has granted stay on the judgement passed by High Court cancelling elections to Five Municipalities and Notification of State election commission keeping the election in abeyance for the same.
This has also paved way for continuation of the election process. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta along with Adv. Devidas Pangam-AG Goa argued on behalf of Goa govt, while Adv ANS Nadkarni argued against the Government.
