Sattari: The women from Saleli village in Sattari taluka on Monday gave memorandum to Deputy Collector of Valpoi, Rajesh Azgaonkar demanding that illegal sale of liquor should be banned in the village.
They informed Deputy Collector that there is no single registered liquor bar in their village. But still six to seven people were selling the liquor illegally in village.
The women stated that people from outside the village also come to these illegal liquor selling outlets thereby disturbing the peace.
They have demanded that Excise Department should take action against these outlets, which they have not done despite several complaints.
