Panaji: Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar has demanded that the fuel subsidy should be restarted to the private bus operators.
Speaking on the floor of the House, Amonkar said that the fuel subsidy to private buses have stopped since June 2018.
The subsidy was given as a part of Court order by the State government, which has stopped now, he said.
Amonkar said that the pandemic has severely affected the private bus business with out of 1430 buses, only 300 are currently operational. He said that State government should immediately start the benefits to the private bus operators.
