Margao: The Resident Doctors on duty in two of the prominent state run COVID-19 treatment facilities who had struck the work withdrew their strike, a senior official said.
In a press statement released here, South Goa District Collector Ajit Roy said that the resident doctors have resumed the duties by evening.
Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) had struck the work protesting against District Administration’s order asking them to vacate the accommodation provided to them by the government near the place of their work. The doctors from ESI Hospital and District Hospital in Margao were on strike since Monday morning after they were asked to vacate the accommodation.
“Some disruption in the services at Covid hospitals was reported today in the afternoon. Resident Doctors had withdrawn their services demanding separate accommodation,” Roy said in a statement.
“These doctors joined their duties by the evening hours. Senior consultants and Directorate of Health Services doctors attended to all the patients during these hours without any inconvenience to any patient,” he said.
“Health department and district administration is committed to the best healthcare services in the times of Covid-19 pandemic,” Roy added.
