Quepem: The election process at Quepem municipal council has come under scanner after Congress alleged that a lady aspirant has been missing since morning, while in yet another incident, video of BJP workers stopping a candidate from filing his nomination has gone viral.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar tweeted that party’s lady candidate has been missing from Quepem since morning.
Chodankar tweeted “Our another lady candidate is missing in Quepem since morning. Unable to contact her. We suspect she is either threatened or kidnapped. @DGP_Goa should immediately trace her to ensure her safety. Only Babu Kavlekar and his gang can put more light on the issue.”
Chodankar also tweeted “Apart from illegalities in reservation, the BJP has provided that goondagiri is the only path to power by stopping and manhandling ward no 1 candidate Ramesh Naik from filing his nomination for Quepem Municipality Election. @BJP4Goa has converted Goa into a Goondaism state.”
The video that went viral had one of the official working in Kavlekar’s office seen trying to stop the candidate.
