Mapusa: Two days after the state-run District Hospital in Mapusa, North Goa, witnessed a four-hour power outage, State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has ordered an internal inquiry into the matter.
Rane told reporters on Wednesday that he has ordered an inquiry headed by the State Health Secretary into the power outage at the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa, which was reported on Monday.
He said that the outage lasted for four hours and that a detailed inquiry would be conducted to determine the reason behind it.
Rane said that the outage could have led to a serious crisis, particularly given the presence of critically ill patients, including those dependent on ventilator support.
“The circumstances leading to the failure, the adequacy of backup systems, and the response mechanism must be thoroughly examined so that accountability is fixed and such an incident is not repeated,” he added.
