Fatorda: Goa Forward Party chief and former Deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said that the action of Chief minister Pramod Sawant has “brought about distrust in NDA allies nationally.”
“This action of betraying people who had contributed for their success initially has brought about distrust in NDA allies. This has huge national ramification,” the Fatorda MLA said talking to reporters at the sidelines of an event held in his constituency.
He said that the urge of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to create his own Goenkarponn (Goanness) government has created distrust amongst NDA allies.
“I was in Delhi yesterday and met various people who are NDA allies, they say the action makes them watch their back,” Sardesai commented.
“I think this government and the people who are heading this government has started a new technique. The technique is to mislead central leadership and do something which is completely unethical and immoral and then come to Goa and tell their cadre that this is decision of central leadership when they are not at all involved,” he said.
“This is the new modus operandi of government which is without vision which is reading out contribution of previous chief minister and which is dismantling his legacy day in and day out,” Sardesai said.
The former Deputy chief minister participated in the symbolic plantation drive of paddy by children organised by NGO we For Fatorda.
He said that the symbolic planting of the paddy was to create Goan farmers of tomorrow.
“These are farmers who will take agriculture forward.. Agriculture should be part of school curriculum,” he said.
Sardesai recalled that the Budgetary outlay for agriculture shown in this budget by Pramod Sawant was actually the one which was included by Manohar Parrikar.
“He has just read the budget which was prepared by Manohar Parrikar. In this budget there is huge outlay for agriculture because of me and my team which had put forward proposal of floriculture, organic farming and centre of excellence with Israeli support,” he added.
“We need to bring back fallow land under cultuvation.. This government has neglected the agriculture because this chief minister and his government does not have time to think about such thing,” Sardesai said.
