Bicholim, February 20, 2021: As our nation is all set for the next phase of the massive COVID vaccination drive, medical experts, politicians and representatives of self-help groups have come together at an event organised by IMA Bicholim in association with Lions Club of Bicholim at Hirabai Zantye hall to discuss the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Speaker of Goa Assembly, Shri Rajesh Patnekar has urged all to take COVID vaccine so that we can eliminate the dreaded infection from its roots He was speaking today. He inaugurated the function, which saw the attendance of 50 representatives of self help groups of Bicholim, by lighting of the Lamp.
Dr Vinayak Buaj, President, IMA Goa ensured that the COVID vaccine is very safe and lots of frontline workers including him have taken both the doses of Covishield vaccine. Dr Medha Salkar also urged the people to take timely vaccination so that the massive vaccination drive can finish on time.
Dr Shekhar Salkar, Onco-surgeon, Manipal Hospitals gave a detailed presentation on myths and facts on vaccine. Later all of them also answered all the queries of the people who attended the event.
In the next phase of the vaccination drive, 27 crore people, who are above 50-years-old and have comorbidities will be inoculated.
