DM ISSUES PROHIBITORY ORDER

Panjim, November 20, 2024: In view of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) taking place from November 20, 2024, to November 28, 2024, the District Magistrate, North Goa, under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has prohibited the following:

  • Assembly and gathering of five or more persons.
  • Taking out or organizing of processions.
  • Carrying firearms or weapons of offenses such as lathis, swords, daggers, or spears.
  • Use of loudspeakers.
  • Shouting of slogans.
  • Burning of firecrackers near petrol pumps and at the venues of meetings, etc., in any public place, street, road, square, thoroughfare, by-lane, or any open space within a radius of 500 meters around the place of function of the 55th IFFI under the jurisdiction of Panaji Police Station and Agacaim Police Station.

These restrictions shall not apply to public servants on duty, bona fide marriage or funeral processions, special occasions, or any occasion that, in the opinion of the DM/Additional Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate, is genuine and for which prior written permission has been obtained from the DM/Additional Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned. This order shall remain in force until November 28, 2024.
