Panaji: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to protesting youth over the alleged NEET examination paper leak, claiming that students are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan rather than the announcement of a fast-track court.
Speaking to reporters at Goa airport on his arrival for a three-day visit to the coastal state, Kejriwal alleged that the Centre was ignoring the demands of students.
“The youth want the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, but Modi ji is giving them a fast-track court. He is not giving them what the youth are asking for,” he said.
Claiming that protests in the national capital had gathered momentum, the former Delhi chief minister said there was a huge turnout at Connaught Place, Central Park and Jantar Mantar.
“There is a huge crowd at Connaught Place, Central Park and Jantar Mantar. They are filled with people. I appeal to the Prime Minister to listen,” Kejriwal said.
He also alleged that there could be a crackdown on the protesters.
“It looks like there will be a crackdown on the youth today. Shops in Connaught Place are shut and there is a heavy deployment of paramilitary forces. Everyone is suspecting that there will be a crackdown,” he claimed.
Kejriwal arrived in Goa on a three-day visit during which he is expected to hold meetings with party leaders and workers and review the AAP’s organisational preparations ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
