Calagute: Police on Monday night arrested four persons, originally from Andhra Pradesh, from a hotel at Candolim village for accepting bets on IPL match.
Calangute Police raided a hotel at Candolim village in North Goa where all the four persons were found accepting bets on the IPL match between Kolkatta Knight Riders and Royal Challengers, Bengaluru.
Police spokesman said that four persons Adduri Naga Raju (42), Irrinki Venkata Ganesh (20), Pithani Kishore Kumar ( 41) and Rudra Suryanarayan Raju (39_ all native of Andhra Pradesh were arrested.
During the raid, police seized total Cash amount of Rs 15, 785 , 32 mobile phones, Mobile Conference Box, 2 Laptops all worth Rs five lakhs, he said.
All were booked section 3 and 4 of the Goa Public Gambling Act.
This is the forth IPL betting case registered at Calangute Police Station within a month.
The raid was conducted by PI Nolasco Raposo, PSI Sushant Sangodkar, Head Constable Vinod Naik, Police Constable Vinay Shrivastav.
Further investigation is carried out by L/PSI Sapna Gawas under the supervision of PI Nolasco Raposo and overall supervision of SDPO Porvorim Shri Edwin Colaco and SP North Shri Utkrisht Prasoon.
