One Arrested by Valpoi Police for Storing Explosive Substance for Hunting Wild Animals

Valpoi: Valpoi Police have booked one person for storing crude bombs meant to be used for hunting wild animals.

As per SDPO Bicholim Jivba Dalvi, information was received that one person had stored explosive material for hunting wild animals.

Accordingly, a team was formed, which obtained a house search warrant and conducted a search of a rented room at Hathwada, Valpoi, along with Forensic Laboratory staff and the Bomb Disposal Squad.

The house was owned by Mr. Sabdar Aga of Muslimwada, which was situated at Hathwada, Valpoi, Sattari, Goa.

During the house search Panchanama, the rooms that are given on a rented basis by Mr. Sabdar Aga to his tenants were searched. Further, during the search of the third room, one Mr. Zakir Hussain was found to be staying in the room. The search of his entire room was conducted, wherein 05 suspected crude explosive bombs, 04 metal mini swords, and 01 stainless steel chopper were found. Further, Mr. Zakir Hussain was questioned about the same, and he disclosed that the bombs were meant for hunting wild animals.

The accused, Mr. Zakir Hussain, son of Abdul Wahab, resident of c/o Kubram Bi Aga, behind Islampur Masjid, Hathwada, Valpoi Sattari, Goa, and a permanent resident of Chimbel, Tiswadi, Goa, was placed under arrest under Sections 288 of BNS, Section 3 and 4 of the Explosive Act, and Section 9 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

The team was led by PI Videsh Shirodkar, assisted by PSI Prathemesh Gawas, PC 6636 Govresh Naik, and PC 6586 Prashant Sutar.

Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Valpoi Videsh Shirodkar, SDPO Bicholim Jivba Dalvi, and SP North Akshay Kaushal, IPS.
