Oman Cricket Player Badal Singh bailed out by Goa Court

Panaji: Goa Court on Wednesday granted bail to Oman National Cricket Team player Badal Singh, who was arrested earlier this month for shooting at his wife in Goa.

Singh has been residing at Cuncolim village in South Goa with his family.

“Additional Sessions Judge South Goa Edgar Fernandes granted conditional bail to Singh (32) who was booked by Cuncolim Police for shooting at his wife,” said Advocate Vinay Patkar, representing the accused.

Patkar said that Singh is a Cricket player of Oman National Cricket Team, and was in Goa when the complaint was lodged against him.

23-year-old wife of the accused had filed complaint with Cuncolim police on April 11, 2020 claiming that Singh  had shot her with an air gun with the intention to kill her, thereby causing injuries on her left shoulder.

As per the police submission before the court, the motive of the assault was petty domestic and quarrels between them.

Police said that the accused also threatened to kill the complainant, if she narrated the incident to anyone.

The accused was arrested on May 01 by Cuncolim Police during the course of investigation and air gun was also recovered from him.

He was booked under section 307 and 506 of Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder and criminal intimidation.
