Panaji: The Directorate of Health Services in Goa is without a Director following the retirement of Dr Medha Salkar on September 30, with no fresh appointment or arrangement for officiating charge made so far, sources said.

Salkar superannuated from service on September 30, leaving the post vacant from October 1.

The Health Department has already forwarded the file to the Personnel Department for the appointment of a new Director, but no appointment has been made so far, the sources said.

No officer has been given the additional charge of officiating as Director, they said.

The Director of Health Services is an important administrative authority in the department and is required to sign and clear various official files.

Several files are reportedly pending in the absence of the Director, the sources said.

The Personnel Department is expected to take a decision on the appointment to the post, they added.
