Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday ruled out the speculations about the early Assembly elections in the state.
The speculations on early polls were rife after BJP began its state wide campaign from August 10. State BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Chief Minister Sawant will be touring the state during next fortnight.
“There is no possibility of early elections. The polls would be held on time in February next year, not before that,” the chief minister told reporters in Panaji, rubbishing the speculations.
BJP is currently having 27 MLAs in its fold while Congress with five MLAs is the main opposition party in State Legislative Assembly. GFP has three MLAs, MGP and NCP has one each while there are three Independents.
