Panaji: The lifeguards who have struck the work since last two months have claimed that they enjoy support of more than 30 MLAs who are sympathetic towards their demands.
The lifeguards on Monday held demonstrations at Panaji’s Azad Maidan led by All Goa Lifesaving Union leader Ajitsingh Rane and Swati Kerkar.
Rane said that more than 30 MLAs including some of the ministers have extended their support to the cause of the lifeguards, who are on strike demanding regular salaries.
He said that they will be holding protest march at Margao on December 5 starting from Lohia Maidan and will walk to South Goa District Collectorate.
Rane said that the contract awarded to Drishti Marine is illegal in nature.
