Panaji: PWD Minister and Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pauskar has challenged MGP leader Ketan Bhatikar to prove that the Cricket team of Vilas Desai had Pakistani players.
“Let Ketan Bhatikar prove that there were players from Pakistan in the team,” said Pauskar, who was present with Desai for the launch of jersey of the team in a five star hotel along with RS member Vinay Tendulkar.
Pauskar was speaking to Goan Reporter News Service.
The minister said that he and Tendulkar had gone “as friends” with Desai, while they have no stakes in the team.
Contradicting his own statement in next breathe, Pauskar also claimed that there is no harm in Pakistani players playing for any team as the tournament was in Canada.
“It is international team. Any player can play for it. I am proud that person from my village and my party is owning the team,” he said.
Pauskar said that Desai might have managed to purchase the team by taking loan from the bank or through his other resources.
