Panaji: The opposition parties including Goa Forward Party and Revolutionary Goans Party on Monday accused chief minister Pramod Sawant of instigating the people against them over Mhaje Ghar scheme.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai said that the chief minister while addressing the functions held to distribute forms of Mhaje Ghar scheme was instigating the people against them.
Sardesai pointed out that the chief minister in his speeches has been naming the opposition parties accusing them of opposing the scheme.
The GFP President was speaking to media in presence of Revolutionary Goans Party Chief Manoj Parab and party’s MLA Viresh Borkar.
Sardesai said that opposition parties had objected for Mhaje Ghar scheme as 80 per cent of the beneficiaries were non-Goans who have illegally encroached the lands.
He said that only 20 per cent of the Goans would be benefitting from the scheme.
Sardesai said that the chief minister, who was formerly speaker of legislative assembly, should have understood that the issues raised by opposition in the Assembly should not be used for instigating people.
“There is fear that these illegal occupants of the properties will physically target the opposition leaders after getting provoked by the chief minister,” he added.
