Panaji: MGP, the alliance partners in the State government, today decided to support Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The MGP central committee has resolved to work for Congress candidates in both the Lok Sabha seats- Girish Chodankar in North and Francisco Sardinha in South.
MGP working president Narayan Sawant said that the decision has been taken to support Congress after consulting all the party workers and also MLA Sudin Dhavalikar.
“There is growing anger amongst workers after BJP backstabbed us. Lok Sabha elections are the best opportunity to teach lesson to BJP,” Sawant said.
Party is also supporting Congress in Mapusa by-election, while it has fielded its own candidate in Shiroda
