Panaji: Stating that there is complete administrative slowdown owing to ill health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, his allies MGP have threatened to contest the upcoming State assembly by-elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls if BJP fails to hand over Government charge to their senior MLA Sudin Dhavalikar at the earliest.

The MGP central committee under leadership of President Deepak Dhavalikar met on Saturday morning and passed various resolutions.

Speaking to reporters post meeting, Dhavalikar said that central committee has resolved that if there is no leadership change immediately then the party is free to contest the forthcoming elections, by fielding candidates against BJP.

“Since Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is ailing and because of that the administration has completely paralyzed in last eight months. Hence in a bid to ensure smooth functioning of the administration, we demand that CMO charge be given to senior MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar as early as possible,” he said.

“If charge is not given immediately, we will contest all the upcoming elections that is by-election and Lok Sabha polls, independently,” former MLA threatened.

The by-elections are due for Mandrem and Shiroda assembly constituency.
