Mapusa: Responding to the call given by local MLA Joshua D’Souza, the Mapusa market has gone for a voluntary lockdown till May 10 to break the chain.

Joshua on Sunday evening called for the traders to observe voluntary lockdown after CM Pramod Sawant announced to lift it in the state from Monday onwards.

“I have a responsibility towards the people of Mapusa and their best interests is my utmost priority,” Joshua tweeted.

The government has enforced restrictions till 10th May and we should now do our bit towards a voluntary lockdown in light of rising covid cases.”

“It is my humble request to the Mapusa Merchants Association , shop keeprs, vendors not only in Mapusa but all over Goa and all Goenkars to further extend the lockdown voluntarily and help flatten the curve. We together can break this chain.”
