Goa: Manipal Hospitals, the second-largest healthcare service provider, has set another benchmark for the people of Goa. The hospital has launched the Department of Ophthalmology which will now be operated in association with Prasad Netralaya. The launch of the Ophthalmology department was done by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Honourable Chief Minister, Government of Goa, in the presence of Shri. Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism, Government of India, Shri. Surendra Prasad, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital, Goa, and Dr. Krishna Prasad, Director, Prasad Netralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital along with dignitaries from the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Honourable Chief Minister, Government of Goa, said “It is a matter of great pride for the people of Goa that the enhancement of Ophthalmology department in association much greater with Prasad Netralaya would provide access to all the eye care needs of the people in the neighborhood region of Goa. I am sure that the new department with the expertise of Prasad Netralaya and Manipal Hospital would take the healthcare services scale to new heights as far as the healthcare services are concerned in the state.”
Shri. Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism, Government of India said, “With the launch of the new Ophthalmology department at Manipal Hospital operated in association with Prasad Netralaya Udupi, it is important to address the eye care treatment facilities available through early detection, screening, and diagnosis for the right treatment at the right time. In this regard, it is a matter of great pride that Manipal Hospital, Goa has launched the advanced Ophthalmology department in Goa. I would urge the people of Goa and the neighborhood region across the city to get access to the facility for better treatment procedures.”
