Panaji: Speaker of Legislative Assembly Pramod Sawant suspended a staff for leaking the copy of resignation letters of two Congress legislators who had put down their letters as MLA.
“Hon Speaker today suspended one Rishab Subhedar working as watch and ward of Goa Assembly for leaking out the official documents from the legislature secretariate on whatsapp,” Speaker’s office has said in a statement issued here.
“This is a first of its kind incident wherein exemplary punishment has been ordered to maintain sanctity and discipline of the Assembly,” the statement adds.
Sources in the Speaker’s office said that the action was taken after resignation letters faxed by Congress legislators – Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte – to the Speaker’s office was put out in the social media.
