It’s century on Friday of COVID-19 positive patients in Goa

Panaji: On the third consecutive day, Goa recorded triple digit COVID-19 cases in the state with the confirmed cases touching figure of 2151.

As per State Health bulletin, 100 people were tested positive for COVID-19 infection on Friday while 74 were sent back home from different covidcare facilities after their recovery.

This is the third day in line that the state has witnessed triple digit number of positive cases.

The state reported 136 positive cases were reported on Wednesday followed by 112 cases on Thursday.

The health department said that out of 4500 samples tested, 1,715 are negative while 2,685 reports are awaited.

The number of confirmed cases in the state has touched a mark of 2251 of which 895 are active. Nine people have succumbed to COVID-19 infection including former state health minister Suresh Amonkar.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the Health department is in process of procuring the necessary medicines to treat COVID-19.

“We have already procured 30 vials of Remdesivir which is given to the patient between 5th and 8th day as per the protocol laid down by All India Institute of Medical Sciences,” he said.

“We have also put in a requisition of 1000 vials of Remdesivir. Health department is doing tremendous job,” he said.
