Panaji: It will take 500 years for Goa to recover from mass destruction of environment, forest and wildlife if BJP’s Three Linear Projects are allowed in Goa. The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and BJP are planning of making their own fortunes for next 50 years from the Crony Capitalist Club of Prime Minister Narendra Modi charged GPCC president Girish Chodankar.

He was reacting to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s statement in South Goa today that the Three Linear Projects are brought with 50 years planning for Goa.

The three linear projects will cause irreparable damage to the biodiversity of Goa. BJP Government at Centre as well as in Goa have already sold our Mother Mhadei to Karnataka. They are now all out to finish the Bio-Diversity rich Western Ghats and Kill the Identity of Goa stated Girish Chodankar.

The defective Chief Minister who has become a puppet with his strings in the hands of Modi-Shah is dancing on the tunes of Crony Capitalists. He has pushed the State into Bankruptcy and created Financial Emergency which has resulted in collapse of every household budget claimed Girish Chodankar.

Dr. Pramod Sawant and WRD Minister Filip Neri Rodrigues admitted in the Assembly that Water is already diverted from Mhadei. Why the Chief Minister had no guts to categorically tell the Prime Minister about the same yesterday during NITI Ayog meeting questioned Girish Chodankar. GPCC president pointed out that Dr. Pramod Sawant said that “If the water is diverted” which was a direct admission that water is still not diverted. The CM has always compromised on Mhadei said Girish Chodankar.

Power Minister Nilesh Cabral has also gone on record on the floor of the assembly that after the power transmission lines are layed and commissioning of Tanmar Project, the Railway Engines carrying Coal Wagons will move speedily and will not need four engines like now. This exposes the fact that the Three Linear Projects are primararily to boost Coal Transportation claimed Girish Chodankar.

Congress Party will continue to oppose all projects which will destroy Identity of Goa. We will continue with our “Mhadei Jagor” and “Only Goal Say No To Coal” agitations and be the Voice of the People stated Girish Chodankar.
