Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday said that it is not for him but the family members of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to give information about his health condition.
Rane was responding to a question by mediapersons on health condition of Parrikar, who is currently recuperating at his private residence.
“It is something to do with his family. I think we should not discuss it in a press conference. Cm is unwell and it is prerogative of his family to give the information about his health and now for health minister,” the Health Minister said.
Rane ruled out leadership change stating that “there is no question of new cm when we have existing cm.”
When asked about the ill-health of Parrikar, Rane commented “always believe that miracles can happen.”
“Let me be very frank. Many a times defying medical science also, people get better. So let us just hope and pray,” he said.
The minister said that Parrikar is under the best care. “He is being monitored from here, by doctors from AIIMS and from the USA,” he said.
“At this stage it is prerogative of the family. At this moment we should allow the family to decide,” Rane said.
