Panaji: Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa on Wednesday said that their both the candidates will win the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, considering the response received from the voters across the state.

Talking to reporters, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that North Goa candidate Shripad Naik will win with over one lakh margin while South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo will win with 50,000-60,000 margin.

Sawant was briefing media in Panaji in presence of BJP Goa President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and North Goa candidate Shripad Naik.

The chief minister said that the Congress has already conceded defeat and their leaders in private are admitting that they will be restricted to only four (out of 40) assembly constituencies.

Sawant said that INDIA Alliance will “vanish” once the results of Lok Sabha elections are pronounced. “AAP will also not be able to contest next election as their chief minister is in jail,” he said adding that some of the INDIA Alliance partners in Goa who were “more aggressive then Congress” may merge their party in the Congress.

The chief minister said that BJP has fought this election on the issue of development while Congress was trying to raise issues related to religion and caste to campaign for their candidates (in Goa).

Sawant said that Congress has nothing to project hence they had to take shelter under the issues of caste and religion. “Congress should have told people what they have done when they had double engine government (UPA),” he said.
