“AAP lauds courage of Drishti lifeguards, asks them to stay committed to their demand”
Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party while welcoming the withdrawal of the fast unto death by Drishti lifeguards cautioned the people against trusting the ‘fotting’ chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre while pointing out that the chief minister has not given anything in writing reminded people that Dr Pramod has been lying on various occasions.
“A similar promise was made 11 months ago in February and that has not been honoured and now again nothing is given in writing,” pointed out Rahul.
However he welcomed the withdrawal of the agitation as the agitators were on fast unto death for 11 days.
“Dr. Pramod kept the lifeguards hanging for 11 months and made 70 of them fast for 29 day,” he said terming this as cruelty.
“There are many more groups who are protesting against the destruction of Goa carried out by this BJP government. May it be the Coal issue or the Mollem destruction issue. The CM must have the courtesy to listen to their demands. Democracy is all about dialogue but unfortunately BJP govt is currently functioning in a dictatorial manner.” Said Rahul
“It is our demand that a written assurance is given by CM Sawant of the promises he verbally made to the life guards, since it’s a well known fact that the BJP leaders are notorious for their short term memory loss and ‘U’ turns.” Said Rahul
